What about clothing ?
Pack lightly. Dress is generally informal. As mentioned elsewhere, some of the more remote areas you may be traveling through have no or limited porter service, and you may have to carry your own bags. Never pack your passport, money or medicine in the suitcase(s) you check in as baggage. As you know, baggage occasionally goes astray.
The South Pacific sounds like the perfect destination for you! You never need to dress up in the evenings - a simple, cotton dress or shorts outfit will do for ladies and the gentlemen are fine with a sport shirt and either trousers or shorts. During the days, the coolest of clothing is preferred and natural fibers are best. Don't forget your swimsuits, sunblock and sun hats! Another essential to bring with you is rubber-soled or plastic shoes, preferably shoes you can wear in or out of the water to protect your feet from coral.
There is no particular vaccination required to visit French Polynesia. Nor recommended.
French Polynesia is 10 hours behind GMT, 2 hours behind US Pacific Standard time, and 20 hours behind Australian Eastern Standard time. Examples: When it is noon Sunday in Tahiti, it is 2 P.M. Sunday in Los Angeles, 8 A.M. Monday in Sydney, and 11 P.M. (winter time) and 12 P.M. (summer time) in Frankfurt.
All passengers importing plants, flowers, or fruits or vegetables must be in possession of an international certificate. Importation of live animals is prohibited.
A good sun screen is essential (sun block is suggested for the first few days) to prevent burning. As in all tropical locales, the South Pacific has its share of mosquitoes. We keep this problem to a minimum, but it is still wise to pack an insect repellent.
You should bring up to a 4-week supply of medications, and it is a good idea to carry with you a prescription for any medicines you may require. Take along an extra pair of prescription glasses (or a duplicate prescription). Check with your doctor for recommended inoculations for each country.
Tahiti is very informal. Lightweight, washable cottons will serve well. Men will be comfortable in shorts, slacks for dinner, sport shirts and sandals, while ladies may wear shorts, skirts and sun dresses. We recommend at least two swimsuits per person, comfortable rubber-soled shoes or water shoes for many excursions (a necessity on the shark feeding excursion), a hat or visor, sunglasses and a waterproof bag to protect your camera equipment from salt and spray.

No don’t worry , no predators, no snakes.
Much less than other seas. Rarely you should find venomous “stone fish” at underwater rocks. If you walk at the shallow reef beach always wear proper shoes. Please never touch corals or other species during snorkeling. You don’t kill them and you avoid possibility of skin irritation.
Yes we do , but don’t worry. Those small (up to 3 ft) are very common at all tropical sea waters If you have good luck you should see them during snorkeling close to the reef. Mostly you don’t because they simply escape - more scary of you than you of them.
At Eden Beach we do have 220V/50Hz outlets. For most equipments (charger , shaving machine) you just need adapter. If you don’t have one we can borrow you one at front desk.
There is no tipping at French Polynesia at all. Nobody expect it. In case of exemplary service feel free to tip maximum 10% .
Tahiti and Her Islands enjoy warm, tropical weather year- round. The climate is divided into two seasons: a "summer" that spans from November through March, when the daily temperature is about 86 Fahrenheit, and a drier "winter" that spans from April through October, when the daily temperature is about 82 Fahrenheit. The year round low is about 70 Fahrenheit. The average water temperature is in the low 80's. Check long year long

Hand blocked pareos (the traditional wraparound garment of Tahiti), original gold jewelry, local shell craft, baskets, wood carvings and vanilla beans can all be purchased in the markets and shops of Tahiti. French imports, such as perfumes, are available in duty free shops, while specialty shops within Papeete offer French fashions. Stores are normally closed daily for a long lunch, on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.
(Tahitian Cultured Pearls) Tahiti and Her Islands is one of the few places in the world where cultured black pearls are grown, and they can make a unique and exquisite souvenir. The Pinctada margaritifera, the oyster species common in Polynesia, produces a dark pearl which varies from pale (least expensive) to dark gray with touches of green or pink (rarest and most expensive). The two islands with the best selection of pearl stores are Moorea and Tahiti. Good quality pearls range from $500 to $10,000 or more, though slightly flawed mementos can be had for much less.
The Polynesians are a very religious people. The church, whether Protestant or Roman Catholic, is the center of activity in all villages. No matter what your religion, you will find the Polynesians' unaccompanied singing beautiful and moving. Guests are certainly welcome in places of worship as long as they adhere to the usual decorum; men should wear long pants and shirts, and women should wear subdued dresses.
If you want a mass production style of vacation with lots of tourists, enormous hotels, then the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii are your destinations. However, if you prefer a special experience, gorgeous scenery, few tourists and no monster hotels, then the South Pacific is for you. As you laze on unspoiled beaches, sometimes you'll think you have the islands exclusively for yourself. As a benchmark: Hawaii gets more tourists in a day than Tahiti does in a year!
It's interesting to note that there isn't an equivalent word for "stress" in either French or Tahitian! As soon as you arrive, the stress and strain of normal everyday life just seems to melt away in this magical environment.
